The world of design has expanded into a ubiquitous platform where the realm of creativity and innovation has become a cornerstone of global commerce.  The omnipresence of digital information has transformed many of the historical design professions. New professional opportunities continue to evolve that designers (product, environmental, visual, graphic, interactive, etc.) play a vital role in shaping the world for the future.

 

This class intends to allow you the opportunity to engage in a variety of problems that require a design methodology to produce new innovative opportunities for furthering your understanding of design thinking.

  • Understanding the value of precedent/research/inquiry in the design process

  • Ability to develop graphic and narrative analyses of information and precedents

  • Ability to develop a project brief and product based on research findings

  • Ability to ‘defend’ a design, based on design product(s)
